MAKKAH, Aug 31(TNS): The annual ceremony to change Ghilaf-e-Kaaba was held at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia where millions of Muslims have gathered to perform Hajj.
At least 150kg pure gold and silver whereas 670kg Resham have been used in making the cover worth $60 lac. Governor Makkah, Saudi officials and other significant personalities attended the ceremony.
The covering cloth of the Kaaba, known as Kiswa, is changed on 9th Zilhaj every year on the day of Arafat.
