ISLAMABAD Sept 5 (TNS): Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday addressing the inaugural session of Pakistan envoys conference said that Pakistan wanted better relations with all its neighbors on the basis of equality.
He said that there was no military solution to Afghan war and that peace in Afghanistan was in Pakistan interests. The minister sought recommendations from the envoys present at the meeting regarding the prevailing geo-political situation.
The minister underlined the need to highlight continuing human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir on all available international platforms.
Among those attending the conference are Pakistan’s envoys from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE and Belgium, US, Russia and China.
The concluding session of the three-day moot will be chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who will give guidelines to the envoys of Pakistan in different world capitals regarding Pakistan foreign policy.
Earlier, Asif inaugurated the three-day conference of selected Pakistani envoys in Islamabad today.
The special moot is discussing important foreign policy matters and challenges being faced by the country at international front.
The participants will discuss potential strength of the foreign policy and options available in view of the current geo-political and regional situation.
Pakistan ambassador to US, China, Russia, Saudi Arab, UAE, and other Gulf countries are participating in the conference.
