ISLAMABAD, Sep 8 (TNS): Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has clarified that it had not registered any political party with the name of Milli Muslim League.

According to ECP, such party had no legal position and that the ECP did not allot any party symbol to the party with that name.  An independent candidate Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob was contesting NA-120 bye-election with the symbol of energy saver bulb. The candidate was using the name of unregistered political party, it added.

Instructions had been given to the Returning Officer to issue a notice to such candidate and stop him to use the name of Milli Muslim League otherwise legal action would be taken against him, ECP said.
