ISLAMABAD Sept 10 (TNS): Firefighters are battling a blaze that erupted inside the building of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) in the capital.
Sources said the fire erupted in the upper floors of the six-storey building.
At least three fire tenders are on site and attempting to douse the flames, according to rescue officials.
Sources said the fire was reportedly caused by short-circuiting. The ETPB building is located in the capital’s Red Zone, close to other important government buildings and a five-star hotel.
Rescue officials said at least two people have been injured as a result of the fire and have been shifted to a hospital. Sources said the two persons jumped out of the building to save their lives and were thus injured in the fall.
Rangers and police are also on site.
