LAHORE, Sept 12 (TNS): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said the arrival of international cricketers of the World XI to Pakistan is a good omen for cricket revival in sports deprived country.
In a statement the Chief Minister said that the series will help revive international sports activities in Pakistan.
He hoped that many more international teams would visit Pakistan soon.
Shehbaz said that it would give a message to the comity of the nations that Pakistan is a peaceful country having soft image.
The Chief Minister said the Punjab government has made best arrangements for matches between World XI and the Pakistan XI. These arrangements are of international standards and I am sanguine that the international cricketers would depart with good memories and the spectators would also enjoy these cricket matches.
He said that best security arrangements have been made for the players as well as the spectators and the cricketer-lovers will enjoy this sport activity in congenial atmosphere. It is good to note that the Lahoriites have welcomed the international cricketers to the provincial metropolis with open arms, concluded the Chief Minister.
