KARACHI, Sept 15 (TNS): An alleged criminal was shot dead; another succumbed to injuries following his arrest, and 30 others detained during various search operations carried out Thursday night in different localities of the metropolis.
One suspect was killed Thursday night during a police encounter as he attempted to rob citizens in Orangi Town’s Sector 9E area, police officials said.
Law enforcement agencies raided a gambling den in Karachi’s Chanesar Goth and took into custody 15 suspects, police officers explained.
Gambling tools and equipment were also recovered during the operations, the officials added.
An operation, which was underway earlier in the city’s Patel Para area, late Thursday night, is now complete, leading law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to take into custody 10 alleged suspects for questioning.
A door-to-door search is being carried out in order to apprehend suspected criminals, security officials revealed. The operation was a joint effort of LEAs, including Karachi Police and Rangers; in addition, female officers are also part of the raid.
