Twin Torkham blasts injure 6 FC personnel

PESHAWAR Sept 15 (TNS):  Security officials said on Friday that as many as six Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were injured in two consecutive blasts at Pak-Afghan Torkham border.

The FC personnel, who were deployed at the gate, and a passerby child received injuries as a result of the two blasts.

Following the blasts, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the adjoining areas, whereas, the border crossing was also closed for all types of traffic.

The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained, said the Frontier Constabulary officials.

Meanwhile, the injured have been rushed to the Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar, for treatment.
