MULTAN Sept 17 (TNS): Multan Anti-Smuggling force raided two warehouses in Multan Cantt and recovered smuggled cigarettes, betel nut leaves, sheesha and other banned stuff worth more than Rs30 million.
Spokesman for the Customs said a mob attacked Customs office Multan but a law and order situation was tactfully avoided by customs officers and other staff.
Collector Customs Saud Imran told that all the smuggled material had been smuggled first from India and then from Afghanistan; it was smuggled to South Punjab.
He said this material was to be distributed among the students of various colleges and educational institutions in South Punjab by the criminals. The people of South Punjab have been saved from a big criminal activity, he added.
