ISLAMABAD Oct 2 (TNS):  Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday said that the Interior Minister should resign if he is helpless.

His statement came after Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal threatened to tender his resignation after Rangers personnel barred him from entering accountability court where Nawaz Sharif appeared for the second time today (Monday) in connection with three references filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the Sharif family.

Qureshi asserted that the Interior Minister should not only utter statements but also implement them.

The PTI leader said that the people should refrain from unnecessary visits to court. He taunted that some of the people only arrive for the purpose of flattery.

Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed also lashed out at PML-N and said that the Interior Minister should resign.

He pointed out that PML-N wants to leave the government through force. “They should count 120 days from now onwards. Either they will remain here or the supremacy of law. PML-N wants confrontation as it suits them the most,” he said.
