MANDI BAHAUDDIN: Oct 2 (TNS): Parents of students aspiring to get admission in medical colleges have made an appeal to SC for taking notice of disparity in tuition fee in different medical institutions and exorbitant processing fee that includes price of prospectus as well.
Parents of youth have appealed to Supreme Court for providing relief to them by reducing half of National Testing Service fee.
Parents have also expressed concern over exorbitant price of prospectus and application processing fee for admission of students in different colleges and universities. Some of medical colleges are offering separate prospectus for admission in MBBS and BDS for Rs 3000 each, whereas most of the colleges have one prospectus and processing fee for admission for both the programs depending on priority of applicant’s choice.
The processing fee ranges from Rs 3000 to 3500 plus 3000 price of prospectus. Last year tuition fee for MBBS and BDS classes was decided as Rs 600000 per year by the relevant competent authorities but the private medical colleges are demanding Rs 800000 – 1000000 per year and some even more.
