Islamabad, Oct 5 (TNS): Outgoing Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah paid a farewell call on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad on Thursday.
Appreciating his services for Pakistan Navy, the President said that the professional manner in which Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah carried out his responsibilities has not only strengthened our Naval Defense but also increased the confidence of the people on Pakistan Navy.
Zafar Mahmood Abbasi will succeed Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah as Chief of the Naval Staff on Saturday (Oct 7) upon the latter’s retirement.
President Mamnoon Hussain promoted Vice Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi to the rank of admiral on Tuesday and appointed him the Pakistan Navy chief.
The appointment was made on the advice of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
The change of command ceremony will be held at PNS Zafar, Islamabad.
