Shahbaz Sharif hosts farewell dinner in honour of outgoing Chinese ambassador

LAHORE Oct 6 (TNS):   Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif hosted a farewell dinner in honour of outgoing Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong, on the 68th National Day of China.

While addressing the farewell ceremony, Shahbaz Sharif paid rich tribute to Sun Weidong in recognition of his meritorious services to further strengthen Pakistan-China ties.

He said China stood firm with Pakistan on political and diplomatic fronts. Shahbaz Said that Pak-China friendship is all time tested and deeper than oceans. He said Pakistan is proud of friendship with China.

Punjab CM said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a game changer project for the whole region and the project will start giving fruits.

Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday conferred award of Hilal-e-Pakistan on the outgoing Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong here at a special investiture ceremony in recognition of his “meritorious services” to further strengthen Pakistan-China ties.

The President was talking to outgoing Ambassador of China Sun Weidong and his wife Madame Bao Jiqing who called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. Ambassador Sun Weidong described Hilal-e-Pakistan as a great honor for him.
