ISLAMABAD Oct 7 (TNS): Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has said that eradication of Corruption is the top Priority of NAB. NAB Officers are performing their duties considering it as their national duty.
NAB Rawalpindi is flagship Regional Bureau of NAB which always played prominent role in contributing towards the overall performance of NAB.
He made these remarks while addressing NAB officers during his farewell visit to NAB Rawalpindi. Upon arrival at NAB Rawalpindi, Deputy Chairman, NAB, Prosecutor General Accountability (PGA) DG, NAB Rawalpindi and other senior officers received him very warmly where he reviewed guard of honor.
The Director General NAB Rawalpindi, Nasir Iqbal in his welcome address said that it is indeed a great pleasure for NAB Rawalpindi to welcome you at NAB Rawalpindi on your farewell visit. We feel proud that under your dynamic leadership from 2014 to 2017, NAB has perfected its procedures after taking various initiatives under your able leadership.
He said that under your leadership, NAB Rawalpindi is very actively perusing the cause of elimination of corruption and corrupt practices through a holistic approach of Awareness, Prevention and Enforcement by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy across the board. He said that the memory of your four years tenure, brings us your patronage and guidance all the times which helped us in further improving the performance of NAB Rawalpindi.
He said that under your valuable and excellent leadership which you have demonstrated as Chairman NAB in eradication of corruption by burning mid night candles will be written in golden words and we salute you for you on this national service.

He said that NAB’s proactive Anti-Corruption Strategy, national and international reputable organizations lauded the performance of NAB under your dynamic leadership. He said that strong leadership like yours can lead the organizations in the right direction to eradicate corruption by all means with adopting Zero Tolerance policy.

He said that our success as the apex anti-corruption agency inspires us to redouble our efforts in performance of our national duty with more professionalism, dedication and commitment to eliminate corruption from our motherland in all its forms and manifestations.
The Chairman NAB said that NAB Rawalpindi has played prominent role in contributing towards the overall performance of NAB. He said that ccorruption is mother of all evils. He said that due to various initiatives taken by the present management from the year 2014 to 2017, PILDAT, Transparency International and World Economic Forum have appreciated Pakistan due to NAB efforts.
He said that our overall performance remained excellent as compared to other Anti-Corruption Organizations. He said nation is proud upon you as you are performing your duties even in odd hours with absolutely professionally, transparently as per law. NAB during the last four years has recovered Rs. 50/- billion from corrupt and deposited in the national exchequer which is a record achievement as no other Anti-Corruption agency in Pakistan has recovered such a huge amount in such a short span of time.
He said that NAB is the first chairman of SAARC Anti-Corruption Forum. NAB is the only Organization in the world to whom China has signed MoU in order to streamline cooperation in the field of anti-corruption and oversee projects to be undertaken under CEPC.
He said that NAB has established its first Forensic Science Lab (FSL) in Islamabad which has facilities of Digital Forensics, Questioned Documents and Fingerprint Analysis. He said that NAB has rationalized its workload and timelines have been prescribed for efficient, effective and expeditious disposal of cases putting a maximum limit of 10 months – from complaint verification-to-inquiry-to-investigation and finally to a reference in the Accountability Court.
He said that NAB has also introduced a new System of Combine Investigation Team (CIT) in order to benefit from the experience and collective wisdom of senior supervisory officers, a system of CIT comprising of Director, Additional Director, Investigation Officer and a Senior Legal Counsel has been put in place. This will not only lend quality to the work but also ensure that no single individual can influence the proceedings. The results of CIT are very encouraging.
The Chairman NAB appreciated the performance of all wings of NAB Rawalpindi under the supervision of Mr. Nasir Iqbal, DG, NAB Rawalpindi and hoped that NAB Rawalpindi will continue its excellent performance in future.
