ISLAMABAD, Oct 09 (TNS): The reports are taking rounds that Capt Safdar son in-law of former premier Muhammad Nawaz Sharief, in the face of panama papers scandal, might be arrested tonight on his arrival at Islamabad international airport.
TNS has learned from special sources that the officials of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) have reached airport to make the arrest but Maryam Nawaz, who is along with her husband w’d be barred from being arrested.
Leaders of PML-N including Parvaiz Rashid, Asif kirmani,Dr, Tareq Fazal Choudhery,Marvi Memon and Danyal Aziz have also reached to receive the couple.
Asif Kirmani, when asked for his take about the development has said that the will act according to the law.
Earlier in the day NAB Lahore in its letter to the Secretory National Assembly had informed about the possible arrest of Cap Safdar. The letter states that a reference has been filed in Islamabad accountability court against Captain (r) Safdar and the accountability court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants against him.
Situation at airport is reported to be tense at the moment. Large number of police and other security agencies has been deployed to thwart any unwanted to happen.
