Bahawalnagar, Oct 10 (TNS): Police in district Bahawalnagar involved in extortion and fake detentions to loot innocent people, TNS has learnt.

According to details, Sub-Inspector Maqbool kidnapped an owner of petrol station from Manchanabad area of Bahawalnagar.

Sarfaraz, owner of “Sarfaraz Petroleum” told TNS that on direction of Inspector Jam Manzoor station Sub-Inspector Maqbool abducted him from Maklot Gnaj for not paying extortion money.

He alleged that police kept him in custody overnight and released next morning after receiving Rs. 20,000 as extortion money.

Inspector Jam Manzoor is also reportedly involved in various misconducts including fake arrests to loot innocent people in the area.

TNS has learnt that the Inspector on August 30 arrested a student of 10th grade for allegedly involved in liquor business and registered a case No. 269/17 against the teenager boy for not giving extortion money.

When TNS contacted Jam Manzoor on his mobile no. 03006754620 to know his point of view, the Inspector said that he was on vacations and would probe into complaints against his junior officer and aide Maqbool.

TNS also called DSP Manchanabad Circle Jawad on his mobile no. 03009630546 but could not make contact.

When TNS tried to reach DPO Bahawalnagar Atta-ur-Rehman on his mobile no. 030440929100, his operator said the DPO was busy on a conference call with IG Punjab.

The people of area demanded DPO Bahawalnagar Atta-ur-Rehman and Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take action against these black-sheeps in police department who RE involved in extortion and other offenses.
