Pakistan wants to strengthen ties with Malaysia, Sweden: President

Islamabad, Oct 11 (TNS): President Mamnoon Hussain says trade and people to people contacts with Malaysia and Sweden should be further strengthened.

He was talking to ambassadors designate to Malaysia and Sweden in Islamabad.

The President said there should be focus on joint projects in Pakistan with investors of Malaysia and Sweden.

Talking to Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to Malaysia, Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, the President stated that Malaysia is a brotherly country and also an important member of ASEAN.

He directed the High Commissioner-designate to pay special attention for improving the balance of trade between the two countries and increasing the export of fish, meat and dairy products to Malaysia.

He also underscored that efforts should be made to initiate joint ventures besides inducing public and private investment from Malaysia in these sectors.

During meeting with Ambassador-designate to Sweden, Ahmed Hussain Dayo, the President emphasized that Pakistan can learn a lot from Sweden in various fields particularly science and technology.

He also directed to improve balance of trade with Sweden and promote people to people contacts between the two countries.
