Islamabad, Oct 11 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the government believes in independence of media in an enabling environment to flourish for playing a greater role towards nation building process, state media reported.
He was addressing a meeting of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) held in Islamabad On Wednesday.
The Prime Minister said the media’s role is critical towards overall development, strengthening institutions, ensuring good governance and promoting basic values of the society.
Minister of State for Information Maryam Aurangzeb, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media Affairs Dr. Mussadiq Malik, and Chairman PEMRA Absar Alam were present at the meeting.
