ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (TNS): Law Minister Zahid Hamid on Thursday denied allegation pertaining to deliberately amending Khatm-i-Naboowat clause in nomination papers.

The minister said that the change was unintentionally made as nobody can think of impacting in any manner the provision regarding the finality of prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

On the other hand, special committee has completed its work while an investigation report would be sent to ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif in London.

Earlier, National Assembly (NA) unanimously approved oath related to Khatm-i-Naboowat in nomination papers in its original form. Zahid Hamid pointed out that the Election Bill 2017 was framed by a joint Parliamentary Committee, which held about one hundred and twenty-five meetings in three years to reach the consensus document.
