Lahore , Oct 13 (TNS): Secretary Interior appeared before a division bench of Lahore High Court hearing a petition challenging preventive detention of JuD chief Hafiz Saeed and others.
Secretary Interior said that LeT and JuD were proscribed organizations. On the instructions to produce evidences on the basis of which Saeed and his aides have been put under house arrest in the court, the Secretary Interior said that the information was sensitive in nature.
He proposed they would show the evidence and information to the judge in his chamber. Upon this, Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi remarked that this should not be an attempt to waste court time and prolong the matter.
The court adjourned further hearing till tomorrow (Saturday).
It is to be mentioned here that Punjab Home Department last month had extended detention of Hafiz Saeed for 30 more days.
