PIMS employees have vowed to continue their protest strike until their demand to separate PIMS from ZABU is not met.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (TNS): A large number of people, not only from twin cities but other and remote parts of the country turn to PIMS, Pakistan institute of medical sciences, on daily basis aiming at to get better and advanced treatment to their different ailments.

Four years ago, under an Act of Law, PIMS was affiliated/associated with Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University (ZABU), but employees of all the departments of the institute not only disagreed with the Govt decision but also resorted to occasional demonstrations with the demand of reversing the decision. Although many times they have been assured of solving this problem, but no action has taken place in this regard, resulting in the resentful strike for thirteen consecutive days by all the employees from doctors to sweepers.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, in a recent cabinet meeting, has approved the separation of PIMS from ZABU, but not enough to satisfy the agitating employees of PIMS. The have expressed their resolve to continue their protest strike until the said approval is not made practical.
