Rawalpindi, Oct. 15 (TNS): The fact which nobody can deny is that the local government system has great importance in democracy as the public gets access to basic facilities at their doorstep.
As result of initiative launched by Shahbaz Sharif, people of UC-9, seem to be very happy for basic facilities provided by Punjab government in areas of Khayabane-Iqbal Rawalpindi,
Besides healthcare facilities, educational facilities and development projects, local elected representatives are working more seriously, responsibly and sincerely because they and their children have to breath, play and study in the same environment.
The local representatives have been given the power by the Punjab government. In UC-9 Rawalpindi, due to public-friendly policies of Mian Shahbaz Sharif, new filtration plants have been installed which resulted in a decline in patients suffering from hepatitis.
Chairman of the Union Council-9, Raja Shahid Latif says the present era is golden period as far as the local government system is concerned.
He said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s dream to transfer power and funds to the grassroots level has been fulfilled.
