KP Govt launches special campaign to control dengue virus

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (TNS): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched a special campaign to control dengue virus in Peshawar with the cooperation of World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

According to spokesman of Dengue Response Unit Peshawar, 491 teams have been constituted to carry out fumigation in the week long campaign, Radio Pakistan reported.

The anti-dengue teams will carry out fumigation inside and outside houses in fourteen affected union councils. Fifty-four people have so far died of dengue fever in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while over ten thousand others have been affected.
