KARACHI Oct 19 (TNS):  Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast another heatwave for Karachi.

PMD stated a deep depression is forming up over the Bay of Bengal which is likely to intensify into a tropical storm or possibly a Category 1 cyclone in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The weather department further stated that the system is expected to move towards central Indian region and will dissipate there.

The meteorological department further stated that it can cut off sea breeze in the coastal belt of Pakistan, resulting increase in temperature of up to 41°C from October 19th to October 22nd.

The heatwave will be lesser in intensity than one experienced in the city a week ago, the meteorological department stated.

Spokesman PMD Dr. Abdul Rashid stated that the new weather system will not affect any other part of Pakistan and will not result in rainfall in the country.

Citizens have been advised to avoid direct sunlight and refrain from going out unnecessarily during the coming heatwave.
