Dolphin Force formed for defense of CPEC

LAHORE, Oct 21 (TNS): Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that it is government’s duty to protect the citizens, and announced to introduce Dolphin Force (DF) in other cities of the province as well.

CM Shehbaz expressed his views while addressing the passing out parade of the Dolphin Force at Police Training College Chung, and said DF has set a great example of performing wonderful duty.

He said that the Dolphin force has been formed for safeguarding the China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects in the province.

Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the 696 candidates who passed out after completing their training, and said he is confident that all of them will meet the expectations of the people and improve the image of Punjab police by curbing the crime.

The Chief Minister said DF has been given the best training, and asked the force to now prove their eligibility. He also advised them to always show good behavior during their duty.

The passed out officers will be posted in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad.

The chief minister further added that Punjab government has spent millions of rupees on police’s training who have given unlimited sacrifices while fighting against terrorism.

He said that the idea of the force originated from Turkey. The idea of the forces was conceived back in 2013, where it was decided to equip 700 policemen to battle against street crime, he added.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that same level of quality service can be expected from the force. He said that the personnel of the force will set examples regarding eradication of crime.
