RAWALPINDI, Oct 21, (TNS): Falling in NA-56, Union Council 18 is considered to be the larger Union Council of Rawalpindi. Fast increase in population has multiplied the issues particularly the of lack of basic facilities but now residents of the area seem to be quite happy with CM Punjab saying that his hard work to uplift the people is definitely paying off.

Poor Sanitation, lack of clean drinking water and lightless streets has been the chronic issues of this area but now things have changed. Streets mostly bear a clean look with constant efforts to promote hygiene and disposal of the waste beside installation of lights in these narrow and dark streets, according to locals, have not only helped to defeat the dead darkness but also reduced the crime rate in the area.

Gas supply is still a problem in the area particularly in winters. People and the elected local body members of the UC say that although arrangements of cleanliness and water supply is satisfactory now but Gas supply is still an  area of concern but at the same time they hope that the steps being taken in this regard w’d surely reduce the graveness of the problem.

The level of satisfaction is such that the people of the area suggest Shahbaz Sharief to elevate himself to national level so that the people of other provinces of Pakistan too may benefit from the vision and dedication of him.

Chairman of the said UC  Abid Hussain Abbasi is of the opinion that  CM has really focused on the issues people of Rawalpindi have been facing for so long but his vision of development can’t be achieved until the concerned Govt offices won’t be put under district administrations.
