PESHAWAR, Oct 22 (TNS): The anti-dengue measures in Peshawar were fruitful as entomologists of University of Peshawar (UoP) have presented a report to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government in which it has been stated that dengue mosquitoes have started to be reduced in the city.
The experts conducted surveys in the areas of Sufaid Dheri and Pishtakhara, and found out a significant amount of decrease in dengue larva. Dengue mosquitos were found in hundred percent houses of Pishtakhara one-and-half-month ago.
According to details, the larva has reduced 75 percent in Pishtakhara, and 34 percent in Sufaid Dheri. Dengue is present in 687 homes out of 2600 in Pishtakhara, and in 387 houses out of 2620 in Sufaid Dheri, according to the report.
The district administration is working to completely eliminate the larva from the locale, and has informed that last phase of anti-dengue campaign in the city is underway. Dengue larva from 96,000 homes will be destroyed during the operation.
