LAHORE Oct 23 (TNS): Lahore High Court bench on Monday set aside the Punjab University’s decision to quash the BA result of former MPA Amna Ulfat.

Back in 2012, the university administration had instituted an unfair means case against the erstwhile woman lawmaker for tampering with her BA results. It alleged that the record of her BA degree obtained in 1992 was tampered with.

The university decided the case later in 2013, quashing her results. Subsequently, she went to the high court, challenging the university’s decision.

A bench of the LHC announced its verdict today, observing that the decision to cancel the former MPA’s degree was illegal. After the passage of 21 years, the university took action against her which is illegal as it was bound by law to raise any objection in this regard within the three years of degree’s issuance, the court ruled.
