Lahore, Nov. 5 (TNS): Lahore High Court accepted petition against continuation of the acting charge of VC Arid Agriculture University Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad.
On the quo waranto writ filed by Mr. Muhammad Hussain Cheema, the honorable CJ Lahore High Court on Friday 3rd November 2017, following the argument of Advocate Mr. Qaisar Imam, ordered Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad to relinquish the charge of the VC and directed the Pro-VC Prof. Sarwat Naz Mirza to immediately assume the acting charge of VC Arid Agriculture University.
The outgoing VC fabricated cases against the senior faculty to avoid appointment of Pro-VC to make justification for him to continue on Acting Charge basis in connivance with Agriculture Department Punjab.
Earlier, in another petition, the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench ordered the appointment of Pro-VC who has now taken over the charge. This has resulted in conclusion of 10 month long ordeal and struggle of the senior regular faculty who refused to bow to the illegal pressure by the outgoing VC who has misused university resources for sticking to the position.
