Shehbaz helps retrieve State’s land worth billions of rupees near Kalma Chowk; Vows to eliminate qabza mafia throughout the province

LAHORE Nov 06 (TNS):  On the orders of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, District Administration in its unending anti-encroachment drive has successfully recovered government’s land worth billions of rupees near Kalma Chowk.

City District Government and Municipal Administration conducted a combined operation.

Following his commitment to retrieve land from qabza groups, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered all divisional commissioners to take stern action against land grabbers across the province. The CM took notice of illegal grabbing of land and immediately ordered the District Administration to get the land vacated near Kalma Chowk.

Shehbaz Sharif has said on many occasions that “no system can run through force; the cessation of fraudulent activities is my first priority.”

He introduced computerized land record system at tehsils and districts level. He says he is not against Patwaris but the Patwari Mafia and wants proper end of the mafia. With the implementation of Computerized Land Record System, corruption and land mafia will ultimately come to an end and with this system, work related to Fard and Intiqaal of properties is done in minutes.

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif the Punjab cooperative department carried out a survey which revealed that 36 divisions of Punjab are home to more than one hundred illegal housing societies. There are, in all 252 co-operative societies present in 36 different divisions of Punjab. The survey revealed that more than a hundred housing societies had illegal constructions and influential people abused the power invested in them by constructing housing societies in places and property assigned for public amenities by the government like parks, graveyards, mosques, dispensaries and sports grounds.

On the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif the cooperative department prepared the list of influential people who were illegally occupying land, reserved by the government for other uses. Many constructions done by land mafia have been demolished and reverted to their previous state of a park, sports ground, mosque or graveyard and legal action was taken against the land mafia across the province.

The Punjab government has also constructed many sports grounds by retrieving government lands from qabza groups.

In this way sports culture has been promoted in the province and modern facilities of sports have been provided to the youth by retrieving the government land from grabbers to help promote healthy activities.

Shehbaz Sharif is determined that qabza groups will not be allowed to grab the government land rather healthy recreational facilities will be provided to the people by retrieving land from qabza groups.

The Punjab government took action against qabza groups without any discrimination in the province and public welfare projects were started by retrieving government land from them.

Many qabza groups tried to construct plazas and petrol pumps on the government land but the Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif foiled their bid.
