Police nab three terrorists; recover five tonnes of drugs

KARACHI  Nov 7 (TNS):  SITE Super Highway Police carried out an operation in Ahsanabad area of Karachi on Monday night and apprehended three terrorists of banned organization Daish also known as Islamic State (IS) group.

The arrested terrorists were identified as Muhammad Umar, Khalid Minhas and Shakeel Ahmed.

According the SSP Malir Rao Anwar, two pistols jihadi literature and CDs were also recovered from the arrested terrorists. Police officials said that further investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Police foiled a drug-smuggling bid and recovered over five tonnes of drugs during a raid near Northern Bypass in the area of Manghopir Monday night.

According to police, it is estimated that the recovered drugs are worth several millions. The drugs were being smuggled to Karachi in a mini truck, said police.

The mini truck was stuffed with 274 cartons filled with over 5,000 kilogrammes of drugs, worth more than Rs200 million. Police were unable to make any arrests during the raid.
