Karachi, Nov. 9 (TNS): After an hour of announcement to quit party and politics, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Chief Farooq Sattar withdrawn his decision.
“My mother ordered me to continue serving the country and its people. To fulfill her wishes, I take my decision back,” he Sattar said.
Earlier, following the announcement of the resignation, Sattar went inside his house surrounded by party members. The members tried to pacify Sattar and convince him to take his decision back.
During the hour-long press conference, the MQM-P chief hinted at ending the alliance with Mustafa Kamal’s party, saying they cannot work with a party which does not recognise the muhajir cause.
“If you have [PSP] resigned from muhajir politics then MQM will do the politics of muhajirs, Pakistan and the middle-class,” he told reporters on Thursday night in Karachi.”
“MQM’s flag also symbolises the emotions of muhajir nation and other victims of injustice.””
“Engineered politics can never work, be it Karachi or anywhere else in Pakistan,” he said. “The politics will take its natural course.”
Sattar reiterated that “MQM-Pakistan is here to stay … Kite is our life, kite is our identity, and we have a constitution.”
He said the MQM-P considered a working-relationship with the PSP only for the peace of Karachi, and that the muhajir vote does not get divided.
“I don’t want my own people to convey their messages through social media; if there is an issue or any confusion, come talk to me in person,” he had said earlier.
