ISLAMABAD, Oct 13 (TNS): Indian media on Sunday dubbed Pakistan’s humanitarian move to allow Indian spy Kulbhushan Jhadav to meet his wife the result of pressure from the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Pakistan had allowed Jhadav to meet his wife in the spirit of Islam but India instead of welcoming the humanitarian gesture equated it with Pakistan’s weakness.

Earlier, the government had offered India to organise a meeting between the spy and his wife after repeated denial to grant consular access to the convicted spy since his arrest in spring 2016.

Foreign Office said in a statement that the Government of Pakistan has decided to arrange a meeting of Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav with his wife, in Pakistan, purely on humanitarian grounds. A Note Verbale to this effect has also been sent to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Sunday.
