ATC grants bail to Imran Khan in first appearance

ISLAMABAD, Nov 14 (TNS):Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday appeared before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and got bail in four cases being heard against him in connection with sit-in in 2014.

Imran, through his counsel, surrendered himself before the ATC, which had issued non-bailable warrants against him and declared him a proclaimed offender as he did not appear in a single hearing. The bail in four cases was approved against him on surety bond of Rs200,000 each.

The hearing was then adjourned until November 24.

The court ATC is hearing cases regarding the attack on the then Islamabad Operations SSP Asmatullah Junejo and state buildings during the 2014 protest sit-in by PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
