Afghan Defense Ministry: Pakistan Shelling ‘Unacceptable’, Must be ‘Stopped’

 Kabul, Nov. 14 (TNS): Rocket and artillery shelling from Pakistan into Afghanistan territory is “unacceptable” and it must be “stopped”, the Afghan Defense Ministry said here Tuesday.

Since two Pakistani soldiers killed in ambush lunched from Afghan soil, over 150 rockets were fired from Pakistan into border regions, alleged Afghan official.

“The shelling from Pakistan is totally unacceptable for the government of Afghanistan and security forces,” the Defense Ministry Spokesman, Dawlat Waziri said.

“The government has shared the issue with Pakistan and the United Nations and they seriously pursuing it.”

The shelling mainly is launched into eastern provinces of Afghanistan, particularly in Kunar province. Pakistan’s military acknowledges that the forces targeting militants in cross-border regions; however, Kabul denies the claims.

Some Afghan senators, meanwhile, criticized the government over failure to adopt a clear stand again Pakistan regarding the issue, Afghan media reported.
