Pakistan qualify for U-19 Asia Cup

KUALA LAMPUR Nov 16 (TNS): Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by the Duckworth Lewis method to reach the final of the under-19 Asia Cup.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh who scored 274/6 in the allotted 50 overs. For Bangladesh, Ghosh scored 82 runs while Saif Hasan scored 61 runs. A 52-run contribution to the score was made by Afif Hossain.

Munir Riaz was the pick of the Pakistani bowlers. He took three wickets, while Hasan Khan, Suleman Shafaqat and Shaheen Afridi claimed one wicket each.

Due to the Duckworth Lewis method, Pakistan was set a revised target of 199 which the team achieved in 39 overs.
