Mumbai, Nov. 16 (TNS): India claims to be the largest democratic country in the world but but going against this claim, hardline Hindu organisation has announced an award of Rs 5 crore for whoever beheads director of the upcoming film, Padmavati.

Various organisations, political parties even ruling BJP and individuals have come out and have opposed the release of the film over apprehensions that it distorts history in telling the tale of Rajput queen, Padmini.

One such group, Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha, in Meerut, has announced a bounty of Rs 5 crore on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s head, as per reports by Indian reports.

In another sting operation by Times Now, one member of Shri Rajput Karni Sena can be heard saying, “Even if we have to go to Mumbai and behead Bhansali, we will do that,” and added, “Bhansali has disrespected the honour of our women.”

Meanwhile, threats have been issued against Padmavati actress Deepika Padukone as well. Mahipal Singh Makrana, president of Rajasthan unit of Shri Rajput Karni Sena, has claimed that they will not hesitate from cutting off the actress’ nose, if it the need of the hour.

He gave the example of an incident from Ramayana, when Lakshman chopped of Surpanakha’s nose.
