KARACHI Nov 19 (TNS): The five bullet-riddled bodies, found a day earlier in Turbat, were sent on Sunday from Karachi to the deceased persons’ native areas in Gujrat.
According to a spokesperson of Edhi Foundation, the bodies were shifted to a morgue in Sohrab Goth where they were bathed and then sent to Jinnah International Airport.
The incharge of Edhi Centre Balochistan, Dr Abdul Hakeen Laasi, told the bodies would be received at Lahore airport, from where they would be sent to the deceased’s native areas in Gujrat for burial.
The bodies that were said to be found during a search operation in Turbat were identified as those of Usman Qadir, Danish Ali, Badar Munir, Saqib Ali and Qasim.
All five of them belonged to Gujrat and — as per spokesperson of the Balochistan government — they were killed on the same day as the other 15 whose bodies were found earlier.
On Wednesday, 15 bodies were recovered from Turbat. The deceased were said to be residents of Punjab who were being sent to Europe, via Iran, illegally through human smuggling agents.
While the 15 bodies were found in Buleda area of Turbat, the other five were discovered in Tajban area of the same tehsil.
They were all shot dead.
On Friday, the army claimed the death of one of the people involved in the killing of the 15 men in an operation by the Frontier Corps.
The army said the suspect was a senior member of the banned Balochistan Liberation Front and was also involved in other attacks on civilian and military personnel/posts.
