Road mishaps in Karachi, Lahore kill three

LAHORE / KARACHI , Nov 21 (TNS)  At least three people were killed and five sustained severe injuries in separate accidents in Karachi and Lahore on Tuesday. The first accident occurred late night in Karachi where an out-of-control trailer rammed into a house in Korangi Ibrahim Hyderi area and injured at least eight people. Rescue teams shifted them to Jinnah hospital where a minor girl named Meena succumbed to her injuries. Police is looking for the driver who managed to escape from the scene after the accident.

On the other hand, a speedy vehicle in Lahore’s Defence area hit a motorcycle killing 28-year-old Samuel Maseeh and seven-year-old Arasta Asif on the spot. Two other people, 26-year-old woman Raut Maseeh and nine-year-old Sonu Asif, got wounded in the accident and were shifted to nearby hospital for medical assistance. According to police, the car was a protocol vehicle and was driven by Naeemul Hassan who has been arrested however; the actual owner of the car is yet to be identified.

The deceased man was a resident of Nishat Colony and worked as a controller examination in a private school.
