KARACHI Nov 30 (TNS): Mobile phones will fall silent in all major cities of Sindh province on Friday as part of security measures in connection with 12 Rabi ul Awwal celebrations.
According to Sindh Home Secretary, mobile phone service will remain suspended from 8am to 8pm in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
In addition to cellular phone service, internet will also be shut down during the day, he added.
The Sindh government had requested the federal government to shut down cellular phone services in the province.
Meanwhile, more than 42, 000 policeman will be deployed across Sindh to protect Eid Milad processions.
