KARACHI Dec 03 (TNS): A report filed with Karachi Registry of Supreme Court has revealed that at least 35,000 Rafahi plots were illegally occupied through ‘China cutting’ a method in which bigger lands are cut short in smaller pieces.
The report was presented by Karachi Development Authority’s DG. The court was furious over the issue and questioned the building of Nazir Hussain University on Rafahi plots.
The report revealed the illegal occupation of 35,000 Rafahi plots and China-cutting in 20 years and also claimed that illegal buildings were battered down by authorities in 27 locations in last two days.

The court was furious at the building of bill board towers with regard to University road and Saddar. Justice Gulzar Ahmed said that governmental lands are not for politicians and government officers to occupy. The court also ordered the authorities to ensure that the petitioner gets back her plot.
