ISLAMABAD SEP 27 (TNS): Senator Rehman Malik chaired the Senate Standing Committee on Interior meeting here today.
A resolution was presented to condemn the terror attack in Peshawar on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in the latest wave of terrorism in the country. It was read by Senator Rehman Malik and the Senate Committee on interior approved it with consensus.
The resolution lamented the loss of precious lives and extended sympathy to the bereaved families of martyred students.
Condemning the Peshawar carnage it said it was an attack on the whole nation. The government should raise the issue of Mullah Fazlullah and other terrorists hidden in Afghanistan with the government of Afghanistan and INTERPOL.
“The terrorists want to weaken the country. National Action Plan’s implementation could have eliminated terrorism. The government should call APC meeting to review National Action Plan. Terrorism and foreign anti-Pakistan elements pose danger to the country saying he was surprised at the Tweet by an Indian the attack in Peshawar occurred quite late,” it said.
As chairman Senate Committee on interior Senator Rehman Malik thanked Islamabad administration for removing the ban on the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the PPP foundation day.
Earlier he took strict notice of the ban and asked to remove it immediately as it was violation of the constitution and promised to take suo motu action against it.
He said in case the ban is not lifted the Senate standing Committee on interior would review it.
How PML-N can call itself a democratic party in the face of such ban? We never allowed any banned outfit to stage dharna or make speeches like the present ruling party did. It is unfortunate that those who blocked Islamabad and showered abuses in their speeches were permitted to do so but the peace-loving PPP was not allowed to hold Golden Jubilee celebrations.
He vowed to make certain the rule of law and democracy.

He reminded the PML-N that during PP rule their whole leadership used to make speeches from f Parade Ground to D-Chowk, even in Red Zone. PPP never thought of imposing ban on them nor the interior ministry issued any such letter to anybody.
