ISLAMABAD, Dec 04 (TNS): Veteran politician Javed Hashmi on Monday has denied that his meeting with Nawaz Sharif and other PML-N leaders was about his return back to the PML-N.
While conversing with a TV channel Javed Hashmi has said that he conveyed several of his reservations he had in his meeting with PML-N president.
He also said that the meeting deliberated over political situation in the country. He said that the agenda of the meeting was not to discuss his return to PML-N.
Hashmi claimed that he had spent all his life working for the supremacy of the parliament. The politician said that respect of people’s votes should be restored.
It should be mentioned here that Javed Hashmi had joined PTI in 2012 only to quit the political party over two years later owing to differences with the leadership.
Meeting of Nawaz Sharif and the former member of PML-N has come in today after news was afloat since last week about his return to the federally ruling party.
However, he has denied that the meeting was about him rejoining Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz).
On the other hand, sources reported earlier today that Nawaz Sharif has invited the ex-member to rejoin the political front and he is to formally announce his return during a rally in Multan.
Maryam Nawaz, interior minister Ahsan Iqbal and railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique attended the meeting among others.
