Chaudhry Sohaib blames FIA for illegal raid

Rawalpindi, Dec. 7 (TNS): A citizen demanded Interior Minister to take notice of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team which illegally made raid on his residence.

Chaudhry Sohaib, talking to TNS, said that a Cyber Crime Wing of FIA without any search warrant and legal notice raided his residence at Gulshanabad area of Rawalpindi, harassed his wife and taken away his computer and other devices.

Chaudhry Sohaib said that he runs property and real estate business and nothing to do with “Peeri” as FIA accused him as fake-peer.

He said reports about recovery of 2 kg of gold and torture on woman are also bogus allegations.

Chaudhry Sohaib said that FIA blackmailing him by leveling false allegations.

He demanded Interior Minister to take notice of FIA raid saying that it was not FIA job to resolve business disputes between dealers.

FIA Inspector Shuakat, on other hand, said that Chaudhry Sohaib is accused of fraud as a family complained that he has received Rs. 42.5 million and 2 kg gold from them by tricking a bogus business deal.

FIA officials said, Chaudhry Sohaib, who had claimed to be cousin of former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, has blackmailed family by capturing nude pictures of their young daughter Mahnoor.

The victim family has complained to then interior minister Chaudhry Nisar but he refused to act against the culprit.

The family, later on, approached FIA by registering complaint against Chaudhry Sohaib.

Officials said that DG, FIA had ordered an inquiry into the matter and a team of FIA raided the flat of Chaudhry Sohaib fulfilling all legal requirements.
