ISLAMABAD Dec 08 (TNS): Chairman All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Thursday has said that the USA should re-visit its policy declaring Al-Quds as capital of Israel as it will destroy world peace and would have devastating effects around the world.
US President Donald Trump on December 6 officially declared the disputed city of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital.
In a statement, Commenting on the statement General Musharraf said that the policies of Donald Trump government has endangered world peace and it is quite disappointing statement for the Muslim world in particular.
He condemned the statement of Trump and said that, the Muslim world taking into account, the whole scenario, should adopt a unanimous strategy to ward of the imminent threats. General Musharraf said that Trump statement is also against the international law and being President of a powerful country, he should refrain from taking disputed decisions.
Muslims are a major part of world population and a biased attitude toward the Muslims will be dreadful.
Personally, I feel very disappointed and there will be a wave of unrest in the whole Muslim world, General Musharraf said. He said that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should play a more proactive role in this regard and it should force USA to retract from its policy.
American government should also play a sensible role and it has to keep in mind that a large part of the world comprising Muslim community is not happy with this decision.
