Ahsan Iqbal visits National Police Bureau

Islamabad, Dec. 8 (TNS): Ahsan Iqbal has become first Interior Minister who visited National Police Bureau since 2008.

Director General of National Police Bureau Shaukat Hayat briefed the Interior Minister on professional matters.

The Interior Minister directed the police agency to modernize the department to meet new challenges.

He said that police system cannot be improved without community participation adding that without the use of technology, it is unlikely to get rid of crimes.

“It is indispensable to use modren technology to defeat terrorists” Ahsan Iqbal said adding that National Police Bureau should play an active role in making model police.

Regarding Police Reforms, he directed National Police Bureau to play an active role

The interior minster was informed that first National Police Summit and Expo would be held on January 29, 2018.

Earlier, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal handed over the cash amount of 4.5 lacs to SSP Counter Terrorism Force(CTF) in Islamabad today.

The cash will be distributed among the personnel of CTF who demonstrated their professional skills during the Interior minister’s recent visit to Police line . The aim of reward  is to motivate the security personnel while discharging their duties.

On the occasion interior Minister directed to enhance the image and professional skills of Counter Terrorism Force. He also directed to equip CTF with modern weaponry and means in order to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.

He stated that it is our national duty to eliminate terrorism from our motherland.

Interior Minister also directed to provision CTF with new vehicles.

It is to be noted that strength of first batch of CTF is 382 and it will be operational to discharge its duties from current month.
