Treading the path of Trump’s hate and bias

ISLAMABAD, Dec 09 (TNS): Despite the fact that apart from Muslim world of 1.50bn population, billions others affiliated to other religions across the world and the forums like UN, EU and Arab League, all have out rightly rejected or strongly opposed the US President Donald Trump’s dangerous move on Thursday last to recognize Al-Quds/Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the American multinational technology company, Google has also disrespected the sentiments of billions of Muslims and supporters of Palatine cause and historical realities by showing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Although the Wikipedia shows the boundaries of Palestine drawn on a suggestive picture Google map doesn’t show any thing namely Palestine existing on the earth. It’s being said that Google had deleted Palestine in Aug 2016 from its map but till most recently it wasn’t showing Jerusalem as the Capital of Palestine.

Almost whole world is on opposite side, rather furious at what Trump has decided last week

The United States stood alone on Friday as one after another fellow UN Security Council members criticised its decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said there was no alternative to a two-state solution and Jerusalem was a final-status matter only to be settled through direct talks.

Arabs and Muslims across the Middle East condemned the U.S. recognition of Occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital as an incendiary move in a volatile region and Palestinians said Washington was abandoning its leading role as a peace mediator.

The European Union and United Nations also voiced alarm at U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and its repercussions for any chances of reviving Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking.

The European Union’s chief diplomat Federica Mogherini has voiced serious concern over Trump’s decision to recognise the Jerusalem as Israel’s capital by saying that the aspirations of both parties must be fulfilled and a way must be found through negotiations to resolve the status of Jerusalem as the future capital of both states.

Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanese, Qatar’s, Turkey. Iran, Britain, Russia, France and dozen’s other countries have also condemned US decision and said that it would push the world further more towards violence and unrest.

Pope Francis on also expressed his deep concern saying “I cannot keep quiet about my deep worry about the situation that has been created in the last few days.”

He said he hoped “wisdom and prudence prevail, in order to avoid adding new elements of tension to a global panorama that is already convulsed and marked by so many and cruel conflicts.”

“The Holy Land is for us Christians the land par excellence of dialogue between God and mankind,” he said. He spoke of dialogue between religions “and also in civil society”.

In spite of all the criticism above the religious and geographical affiliations, Google’s conduct by not showing respect to the opinion and the sentiments of the overwhelming majority of the world is dubbed as treading the path of hate and bias.
