Rangers handed over the body of a Jammu man to BSF

SIALKOT, Dec 10 (TNS): Pakistan Rangers on Sunday recovered and handed over to Border Security Force (BSF) of India the body of a man from Indian held Jammu who is said to have committed suicide by jumping into the Chanab river last month.

According to a Jammu Police Official, 34-year-old Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Sanjay Nagar locality, had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the river at the Akhnoor bridge on November 25.

Despite hectic efforts, his body could not be recovered and Pakistani authorities were alerted about the possibility it being carried by water current to other side of the international border. Said the official

Pakistani rangers recovered the body yesterday and handed it over to BSF in Suchetgarh sector, the official said.

A police team from Gharota police station recovered the body from BSF and handed it over to the family for last rites, he added.
