Make ICT Police exemplary for other law enforcing agencies, Ahsan Iqbal tells Sultan Azam Temuri

ISLAMABAD Dec 11 (TNS): The newly appointed IG Police Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri called on Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal today at the Interior Ministry.

Ahsan Iqbal in the meeting urged the police chief to make Islamabad police exemplary for the rest of the law enforcing agencies by promoting professionalism and recruiting honest men into the force.

He also urged him to launch crackdown on drugs and increase efforts to effectively tackle the drugs menace and further advised on immediate recruitment of anti-riot staff.

Federal Minister advised the IG Police Islamabad on multitude of points, including promoting awareness on safe driving, ensuring that the road users comply with the usage of seatbelts and helmets. He also instructed that the Islamabad Police officers must treat the public with respect.

He also recommended leadership role training for SHOs and urged to increase the number of women officers in the police force.

It may be noted that the newly appointed IG Police Islamabad after taking charge, in his very first talk assured that there will be no place for corruption in the police department and advocated zero tolerance for it.

It is worth-mentioning here that Sultan Azam Temuri has continuously been a proponent of professionalism and has always endeavored to enhance the professional capabilities of the capital police so that they can act professionally and implement the law impartially.

Capital Police Chief in his instructions to the department envisaged five core values for the officers to adopt: helping attitude, dutiful outlook, technological approach, facilitating posture and dislike for corruption.
