ISLAMABAD Dec 11 (TNS): Islamabad High Court has accepted the former principal information officer (PIO) Rao Tehseen’s petition for hearing seeking court’s order to endorse his promotion to grade 22 as assured by the Establishment division before it earlier.

Justice Amir Farooq will hear the case tomorrow.

Advocate Qaiser Imam submitted the plea in the court on behalf of Rao Tehseen.

The petition says on the 14th September the court ordered to consider the petitioner’s promotion to grade 22.

It further says the Establishment Division before the honorable court had assured of considering the case of petitioner’s promotion, but despite assurance it apparently did not consider the petitioner’s name for promotion in the high powered selection board meeting.

The petition says the Establishment Division’s attitude amounts to contempt of court as it backtracked from the assurance given in the court.

The petition says the high powered selection board’s meeting is going to be reconvened on 11th December therefore the court is requested to assure inclusion of the petitioner’s name in the agenda of the selection board meeting for his promotion as promised.

The petition also requests the court to demand the minutes of the last meeting of the selection board. It also requests to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the Establishment Division in case the violation of the court’s order is established.
