Islamabad, December 14 (TNS): On eve of the World disabilities Day, the Election Commission of Pakistan organized an event to make special persons part of the electoral system.
In order to make physically disabled people an active part of society and to make them key part of electoral system, the Election Commission of Pakistan marked the World Disabilities Day by arranging a useful event here on Thursday.
Chief Election Commissioner, Justice Sardar Mohammad Raza, other top officials of ECP, members of civil society and disabled persons.
The purpose to mark the day was to highlight the importance of voting for disable persons and to integrate them into the electoral system so that disabilities can also use their right to vote.
The Chief Election Commissioner, on the occasion, said that many steps have been taken by the Election Commission to make sure participation of disable persons in upcoming elections.
